From October 2000 to January 2013, Mr Quinn was the Managing Director of Stockland, Australia’s largest diversified property group.
In welcoming Mr Quinn to the CSR board, CSR Chairman Jeremy Sutcliffe said “Matthew has extensive experience in the property sector through his 12 year leadership at Stockland where the company grew its assets significantly to become a top 50 company on the Australian Securities Exchange”.
“Matthew will be a valuable addition to the board with his broad range of property development and construction experience in residential, commercial and industrial construction.”
Mr Quinn is a member of the Australian Business and Community Network Scholarship Foundation, where he previously held the role of Chairman, from 2007 to 2010.
Mr Quinn will become a member of CSR’s Risk & Audit and Workplace Health, Safety & Environment Committees. He will stand for election to the board at CSR’s next Annual General Meeting in July 2014.
CSR also announced effective today that non-executive director, Ray Horsburgh, will retire from the board. Mr Horsburgh has been a director of CSR since 2006, and signalled his intention to retire at the company’s recent Annual General Meeting.
“Ray has made an enormous contribution to CSR particularly through his expertise in the manufacturing sector which has helped CSR navigate through the challenging period experienced by many Australian manufacturing companies in recent years,” Mr Sutcliffe said.
