CSR appoints Jeremy Sutcliffe to its Board

CSR Limited announced today that it has strengthened its board further with the appointment of Jeremy Sutcliffe as a non-executive director from 1 December 2008.

Mr Sutcliffe is currently Executive Director of Sims Group Limited.

CSR Chairman, Dr Ian Blackburne, said: “Jeremy has made a significant and valuable contribution to the strategic development of Sims Group and brings detailed understanding of international commodity trading and metal related business to CSR.

“In addition, Jeremy’s experience in leading the Sims Group to be one of the world’s leading recycling companies with a clear focus on sustainability is a natural complement to CSR’s strong commitment to sustainability, particularly across our sugar and building products’ divisions.”

Mr Sutcliffe joined the Sims group of companies as Legal Counsel in 1987. Since then he has held several positions including General Manager of Sims International, Chief Executive of Simsmetal UK and eventually Group CEO, Sims Group limited. Having successfully negotiated the Company’s merger with Metals Management Inc he assumed his current role of Chairman, Australia, Europe and executive Director.

Jeremy is also Vice President Ferrous Board of the Bureau of International Recycling and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and was admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales and subsequently in New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.

Jeremy will stand for election to the Board at CSR’s annual general meeting in July 2009.
