CSR Limited today announced that Ray Horsburgh will join the board as a non-executive director from 1 October 2006. 

Ray has been Group Managing Director and CEO of Smorgon Steel Group Limited since its listing in 1999, having been CEO of the Smorgon family’s steel business since 1994. Prior to SmorgonSteel, he had a 31 year career with ACI, primarily in the glass and packaging businesses.

Ray has also been a director of Toll Holding Limited since November 2004.

CSR Chairman Ian Blackburne said he was very pleased to welcome Ray to CSR as a member of the board. “Ray has proven management experience in manufacturing businesses, bothin Australia and Asia, which will be of great value to the group. He has built businesses in China and has led a number of merger & acquisition transactions.”

Ray will stand for election at CSR’s annual general meeting in July 2007.
