CSR Limitedtoday announced the acquisition of a business which expands the CSR BuildingProducts portfolio into the adjacent market of commercial ceilings.

CSR BuildingProducts has entered into a contract to purchase the business assets of Fricker Ceiling Systems (Fricker) from Fricker Ceiling Systems Pty Ltd.

With currentannual sales of around $10 million, Fricker is the leading supplier of suspended ceilings to the premium commercial building market in Sydney and currently supplies over 500 office buildings throughout Australia.

Mr GregRough, CSR’s Executive General Manager Gyprock and Fibre Cement said, “The commercial ceilings market segment is an adjacency to our existing plasterboard and fibre cement offering to the commercial building market.

“We alreadymarket the CelotexTM and EcophonTM brand tiles, and combining these with Fricker’s range will provide CSR Gyprock and Fibre Cement with a platform to grow faster into the commercial ceiling and interiors market, as well as complementing our extensive channels to market,” Mr Rough said. 
CSR’s GyprockTM and CemintelTM businesses are leading suppliers of plaster board and fibre cement in Australia with five factories and 92 owned or closely aligned trade centres.
